Global warming, my hind end! Better have your winter preps topped off.
NASA To Discuss Conditions On And Surrounding The Sun
http://www.nasa.gov/home/hqnews/2008...onference.html
WASHINGTON -- NASA will hold a media teleconference Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 12:30 p.m. EDT, to discuss data from the joint NASA and European Space Agency Ulysses mission that reveals the sun's solar wind is at a 50-year low. The sun's current state could result in changing conditions in the solar system.
Ulysses was the first mission to survey the space environment above and below the poles of the sun. The reams of data Ulysses returned have changed forever the way scientists view our star and its effects. The venerable spacecraft has lasted more than 17 years - almost four times its expected mission lifetime.
The panelists are:
-- Ed Smith, NASA Ulysses project scientist and magnetic field instrument investigator, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.
-- Dave McComas, Ulysses solar wind instrument principal investigator, Southwest Research Institute, San Antonio
-- Karine Issautier, Ulysses radio wave lead investigator, Observatoire de Paris, Meudon, France
-- Nancy Crooker, Research Professor, Boston University, Boston, Mass.
Reporters should call 866-617-1526 and use the pass code "sun" to participate in the teleconference. International media should call 1-210-795-0624. _________________

From what I have read, the sun is entering a period of solar minimum. There was a "little ice age" a few hundred years ago, and based on the data being gathered, some astronomers and climatologists are concerned we may be entering another. That could be globally catastrophic because of what that would do to crops...famine may abound since the world population is so much larger now than it was then.
Sunspot activity is also way down for the past month or two...some are postulating that the decreased sunspot activity is the reason for the early fall that many areas of the US are seeing this year. _________________

WOW! God is awesome.
You mention the crops and I found that interesting because the world food supply is already in danger. Not only the crops but the eco-system as well. For instance scientists have discovered a bacteria that is affecting frogs in many countries including the United States and Australia. Bees through out the world are also succumbing to a new virus that is killing bees in the millions to the point that scientists are concerned about how crops will be pollenated. In the spring of this year the UN announced that the world supply of Wheat was only 2 1/2 months -- that's it!
This past spring with flooding in the mid-west millions of acres of crops including wheat were destroyed, and in Florida the citrus growers are only 40,000 acres from running a non-profit company. If that happens they will probably just stop producing citrus -- big time OUCH!
Why do I say God is awesome with all this uncertainty tugging at our conscious minds? Because Jeshua said that before His return there would be a great tribulation such as the world has never before seen.
We are on the cusp of that great tribulation but no need to worry for those whose faith is in the Lord will prevail, just as the Israelites did when the angel of death passed over Egypt.
The United States is on the brink of collapse which is why the United States is not mentioned in the Bible during the great Tribulation of when the false prophet and anti-christ rule -- it will probably be a third world country. The Russians have been flexing their war muscles for over a year now and have recently spoken against Israel for helping to arm Georgia. Gee -- Gog being drawn out to war, oh that's right, God spoke it to Ezekiel and we can read it in Ezekiel 38.
A mini "ice age" coming our way -- who knows. But one thing is for sure when you consider what all the scientists are saying, and they can't agree, but we see one common pattern in what they say -- "bad times ahead".
Another thing to consider with a mini ice age, folks will stay inside more and we know that that brings.
I know that Brad and Barb are prepared for whatever comes their way, I hope everyone else is. |
