This is a Christian board. As such, no anti-Christian posts will be allowed. If a poster violates this rule continuously, he will be banned.
We are all grown-ups here and we expect everyone posting here to act that way (if anyone here is NOT an adult, act like you are and no one will ever know ). Therefore there will be no name calling, flaming, trolling, spamming, etc. If you can't carry on a civil conversation you will not be allowed to post here.
As I said above, this is a Christian board. The board is open to many doctrines, and members here will respect the beliefs of others. It will be up to the staff to determine what is considered an acceptable doctrine. If there is a problem with the beliefs expressed on the board, we will discuss it with the poster. If we determine that the doctrine is not acceptable, we will ask that it not be expressed.
Apologetics will not be allowed, period. you will never change anyone by arguing or debating with them, so that is not going to happen here. If you can not find common ground with another as regarding your understandings or beliefs, simply choose to agree to disagree and leave the subject alone. We will freely move, delete, or edit any post that is engaging in debate, period.
While debate is not allowed, discussion aimed at increasing the enlightenment of the whole group is encouraged. However, we must restrict the posting of commentary not authored by the member doing the posting. Commentaries are allowed to be posted, but discussion should not be based on them alone. If you need to use a reference, the Bible is what you should use. It doesn't matter which translation you choose, but we do not encourage commentaries to be used unless the author is present to explain and enlighten others as to his position. This rule will not be construed as to restrict the use of accepted Bible dictionaries or concordances. The posting of material from so called 'ancient writings' will be allowed, but if there is any question, the Bible will be considered the final word.
All articles posted in the public areas that are not the work of the person posting must be linked, in the post, to the original website. This is not to protect anyone from copywrite infringement, but rather to allow those so inclined, to research the site from which the document was obtained. Any post not written by the poster and not linked to the source will be moved or deleted, period. If an article was taken from another board, please post the article in it's entirety and link to the original, giving full credit to the author.
While this surely is America, this board itself is not a democracy and does not recognize the freedom of it's members to post anything they wish, simply because they want to. In other words, don't complain that your freedom of speech is being infringed because your post violated any of the above rules and was therefore removed. While I and the staff will strive to be fair to all here, it needs to be understood that we reserve the right to handle offensive posts and posters as we see fit. If you can not live with this, feel free to start your own board, with our blessings.
And finally, we here at The 6th Seal wish this to be a board of family members. But like all families, we will undoubtedly have our disagreements and even some fights. The only way this place will work is if, at the end of the day, we remember that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and forgive each other as we ourselves have been forgiven our sins. If you remember nothing else here, remember to walk in love towards other members. If you follow that concept alone, you will likely never have a problem.
Please feel free to contact me or the staff personally by PM if you have a question, suggestion or complaint with any of these rules. If any are unclear we will strive to clarify them, and if you feel any are unfair we will discuss it and try to reach a mutual understanding.
A couple of additional items. We would like to request that all new members post at least once within their first week here. This is to enable us to determine whether someone has actually registered, or if it was an automated logger. All those who do not post within the one week time period will be removed.
Also, in light of the recent attempts of some people to join only to promote their sites, any attempts at spamming or linking to sites promoting gambling, pornography, drug use, etc. will get the spammer's entire ISP blocked and may result in their ISP disconnecting their service.
Thank You,
6th Seal staff
Now, go post and enjoy the board! |
